I have been Clinical Director at Congleton Vets since 2014, when I moved to Congleton.  Over the years, staff numbers and practice facilities have grown, to reflect our ever-increasing client base.  Managing a large team can be a challenge, but we all have the same goal in mind, which is to provide the best possible care for our patients (your pets!).

My time at work is divided between clinical cases, and administration.  On the clinical side, I have particular interests in exotic pets, anaesthesia, dentistry, and care of our more senior companions.  Prior to my position at CVC, I have worked in Birmingham, Dubai, and Hertfordshire.  During my time in Dubai, I was mainly working with birds (falcons and parrots), as well as larger exotic pets, and reptiles.  I have been qualified since 2002, having graduated from the Royal Veterinary College, London.  I have worked in the small animal and exotics field since graduation.

My goal is to achieve a happy and productive working environment for our staff, as well as a warm, caring, and professional practice for you and your pets.

If you have any questions or concerns about the service you have received, then please do not hesitate to contact me, either in person or via email.  My email address is struan.henderson@congletonvets.com.

I believe that a good client-vet relationship is critical to the successful outcome of any pet's illness or preventative care, and this is what I strive to achieve with every client that comes through our doors.

I will look forward to caring for your pet.

In 2023, I achieved a General Practitioner's qualification in small animal veterinary cardiology (GPCert Cardio), awarded by the International School of Veterinary Postgraduate Studies (ISVPS). This involved extensive study over a 2 year period, completing a 2,500 word case report, and passing multiple exams in the field of cardiology. I was very pleased that my efforts paid off, especially whilst continuing to work full-time at CVC during the process. As such, I am happy to see and treat patients with cardiorespiratory diseases. And if specialist care or referral is required, then I foresee that my increased knowledge will help to expedite this process.

I have an ageing dog called Spice, and she comes to work with me most days, keeping an eye on me whilst I'm in the office!
