Gareth qualified from Glasgow in 1995 and after a brief spell in mixed practice he focused on small animal practice working for the PDSA. With a high number of trauma cases, he developed an interest in surgery and studied for the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons Certificate in Small Animal Surgery.
Returning to private practice in Essex, London and then in Cheshire, he gained the CertSAS in 2005. As a partner in a local Cheshire mixed practice, he developed and managed the small animal department as well as seeing a large number of surgical cases. In 2014 Gareth changed course to focus purely on surgical work, providing a surgical services to practices across the country.
In his spare time, he is a keen cyclist and also participates in duathlons. Naturally, Gareth has accumulated numerous pets, originating in the practices where he has worked, and currently has 2 dogs, Tetley & Millie, along with 3 cats, Beasley, Florence and Daisy.
